Sevices We Provide

Resilient Roots Psychiatry provides comprehensive psychiatric assessments and, through shared decision-making, collaborates with patients and families to create holistic treatment plans, incorporating medication management, psychoeducation, psychotherapy, skill building, lifestyle changes, and referral to other clinicians when indicated. Meghan also strives to partner with other clinicians caring for her patients and families to provide a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to care.

Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluations

A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is a thorough assessment that is usually conducted during the initial visit or sometimes the first few visits. These visits tend to be longer, 90-120 minutes in length, and are designed to explore a person’s mental health through detailed history taking, interviews, and assessments. The information collected is then used to identify potential disorders or diagnoses, and through shared decision-making, develop a personalized treatment plan and establish goals for our work together.

Medication Management

Medications are sometimes an important part of psychiatric treatment. Psychiatric medication management involves a psychiatric clinician prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting medications for mental health conditions, aiming to reduce symptoms and improve functioning and quality of life through a collaborative approach with the patient and sometimes other healthcare providers.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is an evidence-based intervention that aims to provide individuals and their families with accurate and accessible information about mental health conditions, treatments, and coping strategies. It seeks to empower individuals by enhancing their knowledge, understanding, and skills related to their mental health.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a treatment approach used by psychiatric clinicians and other mental health professionals to empower individuals to identify problematic thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, develop coping mechanisms, improve emotional regulation, and make positive changes in their lives. Meghan adopts a person-centered, individualized approach that incorporates a variety of therapeutic modalities into her sessions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction.

Skill Building

Skill building is a therapeutic approach that focuses on teaching individuals specific skills and strategies to manage their mental health, improve emotional regulation, and enhance overall well-being, often through practical, action-oriented interventions.

Lifestyle changes

Lifestyle changes refer to a holistic approach that recognizes that mental health is intertwined with physical health and spiritual well-being, emphasizing the importance of incorporating health-promoting behaviors like exercise, nutrition, sleep, mindfulness, and social interaction that decrease psychiatric symptoms.
